CIDT wants to contribute to a better understanding between peoples of different cultures with translations to and from Arabic. CIDT contributes to reports that Arab-West Report publishes and these in turn contribute to a better understanding of Muslim-Christian relations and
education for peace.
CIDT was very pleased it could host Imam Mohammed Ashafa and Pastor James Wuye from Nigeria, Dr. Imad Karam, co-producer of the award-winning documentary film
The Imam and the Pastor, and a delegation of the Moral-Rearmament Association Egypt on May 31, 2009.

One of our interns, Asger Johannsen, presented his paper about Muslim-Christian violence relating to a dispute over land rights at the Abu Fana Monastery in 2008. Cornelis Hulsman spoke about
other reports Arab-West Report had documented. This was followed by questions directed to Ashafa and Wuye about practical steps toward conflict resolution.
Dr. Karam and his wife Amira wrote a full report about their visit to Egypt for
Initiatives of Change International.
